ActionAid

ActionAid

ActionAid is an international anti-poverty agency taking sides with poor people to end poverty and injustice together. We work in over 40 countries, with over 2,000 local partner organisations.

ActionAid's work is about justice not charity - helping the world's most vulnerable people, especially women, access their human rights. We recognise the central role women play in bringing about positive change in their community and work alongside them to achieve this.

ActionAid provides humanitarian relief in times of conflict and emergency with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable - particularly women and children.

ActionAid tackles the root causes of poverty to create long-term change by working with poor communities to give them the power and resources to change their own lives.

ActionAid has been fighting poverty for over 30 years. ActionAid Australia was formed from a partnership with the Australian aid agency Austcare, established in 1967.

A bequest to ActionAid will have a lasting positive impact by helping to lift the world's most vulnerable people out of poverty.
