Australian Diabetes Council

Australian Diabetes Council

Australian Diabetes Council, the country's largest diabetes charity, has been working hard for 75 years to provide vital support to the diabetes community.

We play a pivotal role in the management and prevention of diabetes in NSW by challenging, listening, educating, advocating and funding research.

As a non-government organisation, we administer the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) in NSW on behalf of the Federal Government, which provides subsidised products to people with diabetes.

Our Call Centre receives over 600 calls a day, connecting the diabetes community directly to our team of health professionals- including Credentialed Diabetes Educators, Accredited Practising Dieticians and Accredited Exercise Physiologists.

We also refer people to relevant health professionals and provide those professionals with educational material that can help them support their patients.

We run programs to help kids, teens, families and other community groups better manage the impact of diabetes on their lives and we produce publications and prevention programs that help manage the risk of developing diabetes from healthy eating recipe books to corporate health and exercise programs.Australian Diabetes Council, the country's largest diabetes charity, has been working hard for 75 years to provide vital support to the diabetes community.
