Novita Children's Services was established in 1939 as the Crippled Children's Association of South Australia, to care for children with polio.
From these beginnings, Novita has grown to become the leading South Australian not-for-profit service provider for children living with disabilities and other special needs. Our vision is to become a recognised and celebrated world leader in the research, development and provision of quality services to the children and young people we support.
Novita provides therapy, equipment, family support and other specialist services to more than 2,000 children and young people with disabilities. This includes school readiness programs, out-of-school hours care and inclusion support to childcare providers for approximately 400 children with special needs and their families across the State.
Our team of expert staff includes occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, social workers and physiotherapists, who work together with families to give those children their best possible start to life.
We prescribe equipment and technologies such as wheelchairs, walkers and communication devices to help young clients connect with their worlds - at home, at school and in the playground.
Through our broader work with families and communities, Novita has been able to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of South Australians who can look forward with hope to a better quality of life.
