Cerebral Palsy Alliance

A bequest to Cerebral Palsy Alliance – Your beautiful gift to the world

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common physical disability in childhood. In Australia, a baby is born with cerebral palsy every 20 hours. Around the world, more than 17 million people are living with the condition, and thousands of families each year need life-changing support.

Thanks to advances in research and care, there is real progress and hope. Today, two out of three children living with cerebral palsy can walk without assistive equipment, and more than half do not have an intellectual disability. The latest CP Register Report (2023) shows that the rate of cerebral palsy in Australia has dropped by 40%—to about one in every 700 children. These breakthroughs are only possible because of generosity and investment in research.

Why Your Bequest Matters

We simply could not do this without our community. In fact, bequests are our largest source of income they are the lifeblood of our services and research. Gifts left in Wills by generous supporters have already transformed countless lives.

By including Cerebral Palsy Alliance in your Will, you are leaving behind more than a donation. You are leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and opportunity that will ripple through generations.

We know your family and loved ones come first. After you have cared for them, please consider leaving a gift in your Will to help children and families living with cerebral palsy.

Most of our supporters are ordinary, hard-working people who want to leave the world a little better than they found it. Your gift—no matter the size—becomes part of a bigger story of hope and change.

If you would like to know more, please contact Emma Featherstone at [email protected]. She would be honoured to speak with you, answer your questions, and guide you through the process and download our bequest booklet.

An Inspiring Endorsement

Australian novelist Thomas Keneally AO, author of Schindler’s Ark (later adapted into Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List), has shared a deeply personal letter about our Gifts in Wills program. His words capture the spirit of giving and the profound difference a bequest can make.
