UNICEF

All children have a right to survive, thrive and fulfil their potential. UNICEF Australia works to protect and advocate for the rights of every child in Australia and overseas. UNICEF is the United Nations Children’s Fund, the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realised. Working in 190 countries and territories, UNICEF focuses on improving the lives of the most disadvantaged and excluded children.

Australia for UNHCR

What does UNHCR do? The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was originally founded in 1950 to resettle refugees from World War II. It is now one of the largest humanitarian agencies in the world, aiding and protecting people forced to flee their homes due to conflict, violence, persecution or the devastation of a natural disaster.

UNHCR has helped tens of millions of people and is often the first in and last out of an emergency, providing crucial relief such as shelter, food, water and medical care. For its global humanitarian work, UNHCR has twice been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
