Include a Charity Week

The Include a Charity Week campaign takes place over one week in September. It is a PR-focused activity to amplify and maximise our message. Aligned with international legacy weeks across Europe and in New Zealand, Include a Charity Week raises the profile of charitable gifts in Wills and provides an opportunity for supporter charities to convey their importance.

Include a Charity Week Roadshow with international speaker Dave Smith

Unlocked the Power of Gift Planning! 

Attendees joined us for an exclusive event with international expert Dave Smith, Founder and CEO of the Heaton Smith Group, a leading gift planning consultancy. Dave had a proven track record, securing estate gifts averaging $518,000 for prestigious organisations like Memorial Sloan Kettering, The George Washington University, and The Barack Obama Foundation.

What Attendees Learned:

The 2023 Include a Charity Week Roadshow with international experts Dr Claire Routley and Ashley Rowthorn of Legacy Futures

SYDNEY – PERTH – MELBOURNE

In September, the UK’s leading gifts in Wills and legacy experts Ashley and Claire delivered a series of in-person and online events to fundraisers in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne exploring the future of gifts in Wills fundraising and how demographic, technology and marketing changes impact the market.

As well as media interviews and IAC Week PR coverage to support the entire sector they travelled interstate with the Include a Charity team to deliver thought-leading workshops and presentation sessions to project you and your programs into the next generation of gifts in Wills fundraising.
 
These whole day interactive workshops (10am-4pm) outlined and explored:
  • What we know about gifts in Wills (Australian market and globally to maximise programs)
  • The future of gifts in Wills (demographic changes and the technological revolution.)
There were also networking opportunities with colleagues and Claire and Ashley, plus some great take away information to share in your organisations.

Include a Charity Week was held from September 5-11 and we had a stellar line up of events, publicity, collateral and member assets.

The build up to the week began in August with the rollout of new videography, interview pieces and images on socials. We also shared the IAC member assets in the first week of August.

Our 2019 event brought in Meg Abdy from Legacy Foresight. Meg has been analysing the legacy market since 2994 when she coordinated the first legacy forecasting project, now known as Legacy Monitor.

Today she is responsible for program management and business development at Legacy Foresight, with particular interests in donor research, in-memory giving and international markets.
